Words of Life Ministries was started in 1997 in order to develop training materials for church leaders in Cambodia. Over the years, not only is Words of Life the largest publisher of Christian literature in Cambodia, but they also operate a nation-wide training program which currently has around 4,000 church leaders being trained. They also support and oversee church planters in reaching unreached people groups and remote villages. Words of Life is also currently in the process of facilitating an inter-denomination team of translators and scholars to make a easy to read, yet accurate translation of the Khmer Bible which will be the first translation to be translated entirely from Hebrew and Greek using a broad range of scholars, missionaries and church leaders in Cambodia itself.
The focus of the training is to give pastors and church leaders foundational training which will strengthen them in their lives, ministry and in church planting. They are supplied with materials and encouragement to be able to train and disciple leaders in their own provinces as well as conduct effective discipleship in their congregations. Hundreds of churches have been started in Cambodia as a result of what was learned here. Words of Life also airs a daily teaching program on nation-wide radio and is beginning to produce training DVD's to help further bring about effective training.
Words of Life Ministries are directed by Steve and Noit Hyde, and assisted by a team of more than twenty servants of God who specialize in training, church planting, translating, publishing or music.
