Antioch Institute

Antioch Institute is a school which is designed to meet a precise need. Much of theological education focuses on highly educated and urban based individuals. There are thousands of great theological and mission related colleges around the world. Cambodia, however, is not a place of high education. According to the 1998 Census only 2% of Cambodians have graduated High School! 98% of Cambodians would not even qualify for formal theological education. . . yet leaders wanted and needed training.
Words of Life Ministries set about designing a program which would give the same quality of education which is present in formal theological and mission colleges and seminaries, yet presented in a different way (often non-formal). Utilizing many forms of training, including seminars, self-study, on-the-job training, classroom lectures, Multi-media and even oral learning techniques a program was designed to help fit the need of rural Cambodian church leaders. Hence, Antioch Institute was born.
After years of traveling around Asia, the need of rural training echoed from nation to nation. Yes, most nations have multiple theological colleges and seminaries, yet few training resources are available to the church in their language. Antioch Institue has now pioneered schools throughout Cambodia, the Philippines and other closed-access countries to help meet that need.
