Testimony by: Marony, from Poipet, Northwest Cambodia
Marony is not your typical church leader. She is 17 years old and has already started three churches and is currently discipling 30 other girls while she is still a full-time student finishing up high school. Her parents and friends had previously built a little wood and bamboo building for worship, but now the church building was broken and leaking roof and termites taken over the building. When the congregation met together they always prayed for the their building so that they could fix it. But the people in Marony’s village are very poor and live on less than $2 per day. Even Marony’s family can barely afford her to attend High School, which only requires uniforms and writing materials, since the school tuition is free. They gave their offering together to build a church. People did not have much money.
But one day, Marony had a word from God that he would provide a church building. The word was very specific. The Lord told her, “On January 1, 2013 the church will be built.” Marony could see in a vision a big church and she could see all the people in the church as well.
The next Sunday she shared the vision with the congregation. She shared that has complete faith that this will happen. So she asked the small congregation to give. Most people could only give $0.20-0.50 cents, but everyone gave. It seems impossible that they will build a new building for meeting, but they know God can do anything! Marony is planning a big celebration on January 1, 2013 to celebrate the new church building, but the word that God has for her is still six months away from fulfillment. Her response of faith is to act and trust in Cambodia. It will be exciting to report on January 1, 2013 what happens.
Looking forward to the Praise report!
